A Mercedes driver ploughed over a roundabout and smashed into a tree prompting an emergency service response.
The silver hatchback was left smoldering from its crumpled bonnet following the collision on the A260 in Hawkinge, near Folkestone, this morning.
Nobody was injured during the accident, which unfolded at around 4am, police said.
A picture of the collision was posted in the Folkestone Residents Group on Facebook this afternoon, after the vehicle came to a stop on the grass.
One user said: “I saw this earlier today and was shocked. I hope all OK.”
Another added: “How did they manage to park there?”
A police spokesperson said this afternoon: “Police attended a non-injury one-vehicle collision at around 4am.
“We attended to assist with the vehicle’s recovery.”
