Car fire between junction 11a and 12 coast bound carriageway of M20
09:01, 24 May 2017
Firefighters raced up the M20 to extinguish flames coming from a car on the hard shoulder.
One crew were called to the stretch between junction 11a and 12 coast-bound at Folkestone about 6.30pm yesterday.
It's understood the occupants had escaped before the fire engulfed the car.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: "No one was hurt.
"The car was too badly damaged to say what it was, it could have been a Citroen.
"They were driving at the time but had pulled up on the hard shoulder."
Firefighters were there for about 40 minutes.
