Man arrested following death of woman in Station Road, Lyminge

A murder investigation has been launched and a man has been arrested following a woman's death in Lyminge.

Police were called to the village, which is near Folkestone, after reports of a woman’s body found at an address in Station Road.

Phil Wellbrook reports from the village

Officers were called there at 11.38am yesterday and a forensic van and other officers were spotted near to Spicy Touch takeaway and the now closed Post Office, which was part of the Quick Check convenience store.

The death is being investigated by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

Police remain at the scene today while inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

A 36-year-old man from Deal was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken in custody.
