Pair arrested in murder investigation released after man fatally stabbed in Folkestone

22:26, 23 February 2014

A man and a woman have been released on bail by detectives investigating a fatal stabbing in Folkestone on Wednesday.

The man, 38, and 37-year-old woman were held after a search warrant was carried out at a property in London Road, Folkestone, and released until April 17 for further investigations.

It comes after three young men earlier arrested in connection with the man's death were released without charge last week.

The trio - London men aged 18, 19, and 20 - were arrested after the victim, also from the capital, died on Wednesday night.

On Thursday, a car believed to have been used to move the injured man was seized by officers and was forensically examined.

Officers have been carrying out inquiries in Dover Road.

Detectives believe the man was injured there, but moved to Wood Avenue in a silver Audi A3 where he was treated by paramedics.

He was treated by ambulance crews for a neck injury and taken to the William Harvey Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

Officers launched a murder investigation after the London man was discovered between 7pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday night.
