Folkestone man arrested on suspicion of throwing 'noxious liquid' at police officer

A police officer needed emergency medical attention after a man threw an unknown liquid over her.
The alleged assault occurred at around 5.30pm yesterday while officers were attending a report of a disturbance in Black Bull Road in Folkestone.
While in the premises, a local man reportedly threw a noxious liquid towards one of the officers.
The officer received medical attention from the ambulance service at the scene. It is understood it caused irritation to her skin, but no permanent damage.
The man, in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of assault and assaulting an emergency worker.
He remains in custody while the investigation continues.
