A white Ford Transit has been abandoned on the bend of a road during times when thick fog has limited motorist’s visibility.
The van had parked up on the side of Tile Kiln Lane, next to the junction of Surrenden Road in Cheriton since Sunday, January 22.
Those driving from the direction of Ashley Avenue have had to brake harshly in a bid to avoid crashing into it, while oncoming traffic has had to stop and let motorists through.
It was the same day the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for reduced visibility due to freezing fog forming across the south east.
The AA also encouraged drivers to take extra care when out on the roads.
Temperatures plummeted to -2 degrees during this time.
The van was clamped on Tuesday, January 24, but remains parked up next to a set of allotments.
A Shepway District Council spokesman said: “We are aware of this vehicle.
“The DVLA are dealing with it and we understand it’s due to be removed shortly.”
A spokesman for the DVLA said it would be removed tomorrow.
