A coach is said to have overheated at the junction 13 slip-road on the M20 yesterday evening.
One fire engine and a police car was seen rushing through Cheriton High Street in Folkestone at 4.55pm when they received the report.
It was initially thought that smoke was emerging from the engine compartment, but this turned out to be steam.
The fire service was not needed, but the police helped to arrange alternative transport for the passengers on-board.
