Folkestone pensioner dies after town centre crash

A pensioner who suffered a serious head injury after he was run over in the centre of Folkestone has died.
The 76-year-old man and a woman were hit by a blue Ford Fiesta at the junction of Bellevue Street and Dover Road at 10.40am on August 6.
Five days after the accident, the pedestrian, who is from Folkestone, died in hospital.
The woman, who was in her 60s, did not suffer any serious injuries. She is also from Folkestone.
Sgt Peter Greaves said: "We have spoken with several witnesses to the incident and have a good understanding of the circumstances, however we remain keen to obtain video footage that can assist with our enquiries.
"We are particularly keen to speak with people who have captured the incident on their dash cams, or privately held CCTV, and I would encourage them to get in contact with us as soon as possible."
