Police are linking break-ins at two cemeteries in Folkestone which were both targeted on one night.
Last night, intruders broke into a metal container and a storage shed at Hawkinge Crematorium in Aerodrome Road, Hawkinge.
They took with them a quantity of power tools.
On the same night, the gates to Cheriton Road Cemetery in Cheriton were forced and a storage shed was broken into.
It is not known at this stage if anything was stolen.
Inspector Julien Lawton of the Shepway Community Safety Unit said: "The two incidents are potentially linked and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has information about either incident to contact us.
"We are also asking people to keep their eyes peeled and if they see any suspicious behaviour at cemeteries or crematoriums to phone 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress."
Anyone with information is asked to phone Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/18006/19 for the Hawkinge incident or 46/18116/19 for the Cheriton incident.
Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers in Kent anonymously on 0800 555111.
