Prince Charles in Folkestone to mark 200 years of Gurkha service to Britain at their Kent base

Prince Charles is in Kent today to attend a ceremony commemorating 200 years of Gurkha service to Britain.
The Prince of Wales has been visiting the Sir John Moore Barracks in Folkestone as the 2nd Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles celebrate two centuries of Gurkhas fighting for the crown.
Charles, who is the colonel in chief of The Royal Gurkha Rifles regiment attended a beating retreat and reception.
Shorncliffe is the home to 2RGR and swap duties with the 1st Battalion which is currently station in Brunei.
The Gurkhas have been marking the landmark 200 years of service with a number of ceremonial pageants.
Earlier this year troops from Folkestone and their engineer counterparts based in Maidstone performed the first royal guard duties in their history in London.
