One lane was closed while fire crews carried out their work to make the scene safe.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 12.04pm to reports of a two vehicle collision between a car and a lorry.

"Minor injuries have been reported and the road has now reopened."

Witnesses initially said the crash looked potentially serious with paramedics, police and two fire engines at the scene.

The traffic around Hawkinge was also said to be building up as a knock on effect of the incident.

Delays have since cleared.
