Some schools in Shepway are closed today because of the snow.
They were Foxwood special school in Hythe and Brookland primary on the Romney Marsh and Hythe Bay.
Half the pupils and members of staff at Hythe Bay primary didn’t turn up for the start of the week after reports that they were closed - when they were not. The school was wrongly added to a list of closures put out by the BBC.
Snow fell across the district on Sunday afternoon and again on Monday morning. Main roads and town centre pavements were gritted and salted but some side roads remained treacherous for both drivers and walkers.
Highview School in Folkestone, Folkestone Early Years Centre, Lydd Primary and
Stowting primary were also closed.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said they hadn’t been called to any snow related incidents on Sunday or early on Monday, but were on standby.
