Serial sex offender Stephen Partridge jailed for an extra six years
00:01, 04 April 2016
A sex fiend – who is serving an eight year jail term for a child attack – has been told he is to stay inside for an extra six years.
Stephen Partridge, 23, was on bail for another sex attack when he abducted and molested a child.
Now he has appeared by prison video to be sentenced for the previous incident in 2014 in Folkestone involving a 19-year-old vulnerable girl.
Canterbury Crown Court heard how he was living in the town when he pounced on his teenage victim and subjected her to a sex ordeal.
The two were drinking vodka in Radnor Park area of Folkestone on a park bench but on the way home he put his arm around her.
The judge heard how he asked his victim to undress and when she refused he raped her and then apologised before walking away.
At trial he denied the offences but was convicted by the jury.
Judge Simon Wilkinson added another six years to the eight-year term and also ordered that when he is finally released he will be on licence for a further six years.
In February last year, and while on bail for the Folkestone offences, he admitted trying to rape a nine-year-old girl after he moved to live in Southend.
The court heard how Partridge told his nine year old victim that he wanted to take her to buy some sweets.
Partridge has previous convictions for sexual offences.
He had sex with a 13-year-old girl, and in 2007, when he was aged 15, he engaged in sexual activity with a 10-year-old girl.
But now the judge has told him: “You were convicted of a sexual assault which preceded the grave rape offence.
“You committed these acts while you were under the influence of alcohol. You also have a dreadful criminal record.”
The judge ruled he will now serve a 14 year sentence and serve an extra six years on licence.
