Death of soldier Sophie Madden at an MOD base in Folkestone not being treated as suspicious by police

A young soldier found dead at a military building leaves a legacy of "resilience and professionalism", her Regiment has said.
Police and paramedics were called to a Ministry of Defence site in Folkestone on the morning of June 10 after the body of Gunner Sophie Madden was discovered.
The 23-year-old was declared dead at the scene - and detectives are not treating her death as suspicious.
In a statement shared on Facebook, a spokesman for 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery said: "It is with great sadness that the Regiment must announce the death of Gunner Sophie Madden on June 10, aged 23.
"Gunner Madden was a highly valued member of D Battery RHA.
"Her resilience and professionalism were an example to us all, and will live on as her legacy here and across the Gunner family.
"Our thoughts are with her family and ask that they are given space at this difficult time."
An Army spokesman said: "It is with sadness that we confirm the death of Gunner Sophie Madden, 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery.
"Her death is being investigated and therefore it would be inappropriate to comment further.
"Our thoughts are with Gunner Madden’s family and friends at this difficult time and we ask that their privacy is respected."
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a Ministry of Defence building in Folkestone at 9.35am on Friday, June 10, after the body of a woman was found.
"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
