A BMW that was stolen from an auto centre by arsonists was dumped in a nearby road four days later, police have confirmed.

The police were called to the Shorncliffe Industrial Estate in Folkestone at 1.40am on Thursday.

Emergency services were initially called to a fire, which destroyed a Nissan Micra, thought to have been rammed into the front of the garage and damaged a VW van.

Shorncliffe Autocentre saw a grey BMW and an Audi A3 stolen, along with scanners, £2,000 in a safety deposit box and some power tools.

The BMW was recovered in Naseby Avenue, Folkestone, yesterday, but the Audi A3 is still missing.

Officers are treating the car fire as suspicious.

Det Sgt Cara Ferguson said: "Two men with dark hair and dark clothing were seen with the BMW in Naseby Avenue on Monday.

"They drove off in an older model turquoise BMW.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity at the business premises on the Shorncliffe Industrial Estateon Wednesday night, or who saw the BMW being left in Naseby Avenuefour days later."
