A major Folkestone town centre store has denied rumours it will be shutting its doors in January.
It follows claims on social media that workers had been told the Debenhams store in Sandgate Road would be shutting its doors for good after Christmas.
Debenhams is the umbrella store for numerous fashion brands including Faith shoes, Topshop, Quiz and Oasis, along with offering fragrance and make-up products.
The companies headquarters in London this week denied the closure rumours, saying the store is committed to its customers in Shepway.
A spokesman said: “Debenhams remains committed to our store in Folkestone and there are no plans to close.
"The store will continue to operate as normal.”
