Folkestone: Suspected drugs raid

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis after a drugs den was allegedly discovered in Folkestone this morning.

More than 15 police officers descended on the house in Bradstone Avenue this morning at 7.30am.

They carried out a search and found 90 plants being grown inside the property.

Both men were arrested and taken into custody where they remain this afternoon.

Several police vehicles were present in the road and remained at the scene for around two hours while they searched the building.

Officers executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act after information was passed on to the police from residents.

Along with the plants, equipment used for cultivation was also seized by the officers.

A neighbour who would not be named, said: "I counted 15 police officers and there were a number of vehicles there.

"They kicked the door in."
