Folkestone assault: Boy, 17, charged after Shellons Street attack

A teen will appear in court charged with possessing a knife after a boy was assaulted in Folkestone.

The 17-year-old boy from New Romney - who cannot be named for legal reasons - was charged by police after the assault was reported on Saturday night.

A 16-year-old was injured in Shellons Street at 10.40pm and then travelled to Sandgate Road where paramedics treated him for a wound to his back.

He was discharged from hospital later that night after being taken in as a precaution.

On Wednesday, police arrested a boy in connection with the alleged assault.

He has now been charged with assault, possession of a knife and sending offensive messages.

He is due to appear at Margate Youth Court today.
