A girl was reportedly attacked and bitten by an aggressive dog.
Police are now appealing for witnesses after the incident near the East Kent College campus in Folkestone.
The 18-year-old was standing in a telephone kiosk in Shorncliffe Road close to the college at around 10am last Tuesday, June 2.
Officers have just released the details of the attack, which happened after a woman approached the victim with a dog on its lead.
The victim was then said to have become anxious when the dog started turning aggressive and bit her hands.
Police are now trying to trace the dog owner, who is described as a white woman aged in her 20s or 30s with light brown hair.
The dog has been described as large and brown.
A good samaritan who helped the victim, a man in a red jacket who was possibly a postman, is also being asked to come forward to help police with their inquiries.
The victim suffered injuries to her hands but did not need hospital treatment and was cared for by her GP.
Sergeant Matt Rentell, investigating officer, said: "I would like to remind dog owners to be aware that people may react in an anxious or unexpected way when confronted by a dog. They should take appropriate precautions to prevent harm coming to passers-by."
