A teenager suffered facial injuries when he was attacked as he walked past a group of six men in Folkestone.
The victim, a man in his late teens, was walking along Radnor Park Avenue when he was hit.
The attack ended when two dog walkers intervened and the gang ran across the road, causing cars to sound their horns at them.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the assault that took place at 9.20pm on Saturday, June 25.
One suspect is described as white, aged 16 to 17, 5ft 6ins tall, with a fat build and short blonde hair. He was wearing shorts and a grey jumper.
A second suspect is described as thin, white, 5ft 8ins tall, aged 16 to 17. He had short black hair, and a black t-shirt.
Investigating officer Sgt Darren Manktelow said: "Thankfully the injuries were not more serious, but we would like to speak to anyone who might have information about this incident.
