A blaze sparked this afternoon after a towel was placed over a shed light.
Fire crews were called to Sea View Close, Folkestone, at 1.10pm to reports the shed was alight.
Two fire engines arrived at the scene and used a hose reel jet to extinguish smouldering hot spots under the roof and sides of the outbuilding.
Fire crews say they believe the blaze started accidentally as a result of a towel being placed over a light in the external area of the shed.
The heat from the light is said to have ignited the towel, before spreading to the right hand side of the shed and roof.
A spokesman for the service said: "Due to the quick discovery of the fire, there was fortunately only a small amount of damage to the shed."
Crews left the scene at 1.30pm.
