Vehicle hits bridge between Folkestone Central and Folkestone West, delays trains
08:00, 11 January 2017
Train services are currently delayed by 20 minutes this morning after a lorry hit a low bridge.
Southeastern has advised passengers using Folkestone West and Folkestone Central that their services may be changed.
The vehicle hit the low bridge on Beachborough Road, which runs between the two stations.
Beachborough Road was partially blocked by the lorry, which caused delays in the area.
Network Rail engineers examined the bridge, and the line was reopened just before 8.30am.
A Southeastern spokeswoman said: "At 7.55am we received a report that a vehicle had struck a bridge between Folkestone West and Folkestone Central stations.
"Two trains were delayed as a result of this incident. The line reopened at 8.23am following an inspection of the bridge."
