The former athlete left his PE teacher job after finding success on his MattDoesFitness channel, where he posts funny and informative advice and videos, often featuring his son Luca and wife Sarah.

He has attempted some of the world's hardest, most extreme and unusual training and diet regimes, from the Rock's workout to the Navy Seals fitness test, plus a collaboration with former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall.

Over the past seven years, Matt, a former student of Harvey Grammar School in Folkestone, has published more than 1,400 videos - mostly filmed in Kent.

But his latest venture is a book, titled The 24/7 Body, which is due to be published on December 31.

It includes Matt's own struggles that he’s faced on his path including missing out on being a triple jumper in the 2012 Olympics, struggling with an eating disorder and working all the hours in the day as a teacher at Folkestone Academy, followed by an evening of filming fitness videos that would only get 50 views.

The 24/7 Body aims to "simplify all the confusing fitness messages" surrounding the industry and "empower everyone from your parents to your gym obsessed pals" to know what needs to be done to get a healthy body.

Matt, who has a degree in sports therapy and nutrition from the University of Kent, said: "I've tried every workout and fad diet so you don't have to.

"As a former PE teacher, athlete, personal trainer and now one of the biggest fitness YouTubers in the World (a.k.a an absolute weirdo who films themselves doing stuff), the most common question I get from followers and even people in the street is, 'How do I get a body like yours?'

"This book is my attempt to shatter all of those myths and give it to you entirely straight.

"It is about understanding how to live your life in a more healthy, sustainable and happy way - and how to maintain that forever.

"And I'm not talking about becoming a monk and only eating lettuce.

"If you want to eat McDonald's, go for it. Eating crappy food doesn't make you fat and by the time you're done with the book you'll understand why.

"I want to arm you with your own set of tools so that you can tailor my methods and experiences to you and your own unique situation."
