Rental van ‘damaged’ after becoming wedged at Asda car park in Bouverie Place, Folkestone
16:20, 03 July 2023
A driver found themselves in a tight spot after getting a van wedged on the ramp leading to a supermarket’s car park.
The ‘Pace’ hire vehicle was captured at Asda in Bouverie Place, Folkestone yesterday afternoon.
According to witnesses, the roof of the van “opened like a bean can” in the attempt to free it.
The incident has been described as an “oops moment” online and many believed the driver would “not get their deposit back”.
Louise Brazier, who posted the image into the Folkestone Residents Group on Facebook, said: “Someone didn’t check the height of their hire van before wedging it up the slope in Asda car park.”
Despite suggestions online to “let tyres down, roll it out and pump tyres up” the van was reportedly damaged.
Sue Milton commented: “We passed it on the slope...it was opened like a bean can. An expensive mistake!”.
Another person added: “The van is currently at Kwik Fit in Cheriton Road.”
Asda was approached for comment.
