Vandals smash window of The Cake Junction in Folkestone

A bespoke cake-making shop that has baked up tasty treats for the Beckhams has been vandalised.

The Cake Junction in the Old High Street in Folkestone had its display window smashed causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage on Saturday night.

The business' Facebook page said: "A heart felt thank you to whoever thought they would pointlessly smash our shop window.

"It's such a shame people have to be this way.

"I think what they don't seem to understand is that the damage they cause is a week's worth of hard work to pay for the repair, if not more!

"Onwards and upwards we guess."

The post has been shared more than 200 times on Facebook.

A police spokesman said: "A window was smashed some time between 4.30pm on Saturday, September 10 and 7.30am the following day.

"Damage to the window is estimated at £500.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help with the investigation is asked to phone Kent Police on 01843 222289 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 quoting reference number ZY/32102/16."
