A new video has offered a glimpse into pricey coastline apartments, showing what you get for your money.
Homes at Shoreline Crescent in Folkestone range from £430,000 to £2.8 million, with an estate agent’s TikTok video providing a peek inside the swanky digs, which directly overlook the Channel.
The plush flats have been such the subject of fascination in the county and the national press, thanks to the eye-catching exterior and ear-piercing banshee-like wails emitted from the building during high winds.
And now curious onlookers can see what all the fuss is about in a tour provided by estate agent Paul Pickard.
Riding a gold-coloured lift straight up to an apartment on the fifth floor, Paul, from Rafferty and Pickard, walks past wooden panelling in the hallway, into the open plan and spacious living and dining area.
However, he doesn’t linger for long, heading straight to the balcony to take in the uninterrupted views of the beach and the sea.
Putting on his shades as the sun shines, Paul comments: “Standing here you could be on holiday. Perhaps in a lovely warm country in Europe, anywhere really.”
He then heads to the master bedroom, which again has views of the Channel and a door leading to the balcony. The huge room comes with an en-suite bathroom, which of course has a double basin.
From there the estate agent takes viewers to the guest bedroom, which has its own en-suite too.
As the video comes to an end, and Paul walks past tasteful black and white photos lining the hallway, he says: “It’s got to be one of the most amazing apartments I have ever seen.”
In another video posted on his TikTok page, he takes viewers on a tour of one of the beachfront townhouses.
Consisting of eight floors, including a private roof terrace, the property seemingly goes on and on.
As he wanders around the huge townhouse, he explains there is yards of storage, with every room facing out to the front or back of the building offering stunning views.
Former Saga boss Sir Roger De Haan heads the company behind Shoreline Crescent, which includes 84 apartments and 20 townhouses.
The penthouse has hit the market for £2.8 million.
Branded as “one of the finest coastal properties in the UK” it has two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and is 1,672 sq ft.
It’s price also makes it the most expensive two-bedroom penthouse in England, excluding London.
Each of the houses has a roof-top terrace, four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a front and back garden. The most expensive has two terraces, a cellar and a lift to all six floors.
The complex is the first phase of an overall masterplan for the town’s coastline, which will eventually see 1,000 homes line the entire beach from the Leas Lift to the Harbour Arm.
In February, it was revealed that some parts of the building were still being worked on.
But Sir Roger’s firm confirmed at the time that sales “had been going well”.
A spokesman said in February: “We don’t release specific numbers, however, we can report that sales have been going well at Shoreline Crescent since the development was first launched.”
