A senior police officer has admitted voyeurism and making and sending indecent images and videos.

Timothy Ryton, a former inspector, pleaded guilty to nine charges at Crawley Magistrates' Court yesterday.

The 45-year-old, formerly of Folkestone, was suspended from his duties by Kent Police after his arrest in January. He will be sentenced next month.

An internal disciplinary hearing is due to take place, police said yesterday.

Ryton was bailed to an address in Essex following his arrest on January 23 and was charged earlier this month.

He will appear at Lewes Crown Court on April 26 to be sentenced.

Police declined to comment further.
