Roundhill Tunnel at Folkestone reopened after repairs

A tunnel on a key road has reopened following repairs.
The Roundhill Tunnel, on the A20 at Folkestone, was shut eastbound this morning.
Highways England announced this in a tweet at 7.03am today.
Drivers were told to follow signs for diversions and the road was reopened by 9.40am.
Highways England afterwards explained that there had been problems with visibility and air quality caused by some of the fans malfunctioning.
An engineer was brought in by 7.40am, by which time a mile-long tailback had built up, and the problem was solved by 12.15pm.
The fans then reverted to automatic function,
