Parents at a primary school have been warned to stay vigilant after a man reportedly approached a mum.
The suspicious activity was reported in the area around Capel-Le-Ferne Primary School yesterday.
One of the parents at the school reported being approached by a man in Capel Street.
The man was reportedly driving a dark navy or black van or camper van slowly up the street with his window open.
As he drove past the mum, he allegedly asked her if the children she was collecting "were her kids".
The parent responded by asking him why he wanted to know, in response to which he drove off.
A spokesperson for Capel-Le-Ferne Parish Council described the incident as "possible stranger danger".
"Please contact the school and the police if you see anyone acting suspiciously"
In a post on Facebook yesterday, the council warned parents in the area to "continue to remain vigilant when collecting and dropping off children at school".
The post continued: "Please contact the school and the police if you see anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity, or if you witnessed anything in connection with this afternoon's incident."
A police spokesman confirmed the issue had been reported to them but that no offences had been reported.
