11:35, 25 October 2013
Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault in Cheriton in Folkestone on Tuesday, October 17.
The incident happened between 11.30am and 12.30pm in Risborough Lane involving two men - believed to know each other - one armed with a "wooden implement".
It is alleged a 27-year-old man ran from Cheriton Tyres down Risborough Lane towards Sandgate chased by a 46-year-old male armed with a wooden implement.
The older man then got into a silver Volkswagen Golf and continued to chase the victim.
He then stopped outside the Prince of India restaurant, got out and threw the weapon at the 27-year-old, before driving back towards him in the direction of Cheriton High Street.
Police are now appealing for witnesses, in particular an elderly couple at the bus stop on Risborough Lane next to Taylor Road.
The investigating officer, PC John Burthe, said: "The two people involved in this incident are known to each other. I would ask anyone who witnessed any part of this incident to contact me."
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC John Burthe on 01303 289093 or email john.burthe@kent.pnn.police.uk.
