Money was withdrawn from a woman's bank account once she had discovered her bank cards had gone missing from her hotel room.
The incident happened between 7pm on Friday, January 27 and 9am on Saturday, January 28 at the Best Western Clifton Hotel in Clifton Gardens, Folkestone.
The police have today released a CCTV image of a man in Queens Road, Hastings, on the same day who they believe can help with inquiries.
The 61-year-old woman only became aware that her cards were stolen when she received a phone call at the hotel from someone claiming to be from her bank and asking questions.
Once she checked the room and found that they were missing, she reported it to the police.
Money was withdrawn from her account.
