A woman has been found dead at a flat in Folkestone.

Emergency services were called to the property in St Saviours Close.

Police confirmed the body of a woman in her 30s was discovered in the flat yesterday afternoon.

Detectives say the death is being treated as "unexplained" but not suspicious.

Witnesses reported seeing an ambulance and fire crews at the flat at around 3pm before police arrived later in the day, including a forensics van.

A police spokesman said the woman's next of kin had been informed and a report was being prepared for the coroner.

An ambulance service spokesman said they could not comment because the incident occurred at a private address.
