Folkestone: Wood-burning stove sets loft alight
09:42, 11 December 2017
A wood-burning stove set fire to a loft in Folkestone.
Fire crews raced to the home in Park Farm Road just before 6pm yesterday evening.
They cut away some of the bathroom floor, living room ceiling and false chimney breast to get to the blaze, which began when a wooden beam behind a stud wall was set alight.
Crews made the scene safe and remained at the home to liaise with a wood burning stove engineer.
