Folkestone Invicta striker Paul Booth has agreed a deal to stay at the Fullicks Stadium next season.

The 37-year-old has scored 23 goals in 26 games since he joined the club from Maidstone United in November.

Booth, whose former clubs also include Tonbridge Angels, Welling United and Gravesend & Northfleet, has been one of the key factors behind Folkestone's surge into the Ryman League Division 1 South play-offs after a poor start to the season.

Invicta boss Neil Cugley said: "Boothy has been superb for us ever since he arrived and we are delighted he’s going to stay next season.

"He may be 37, but he’s a super-fit lad and a model professional. It has been a tremendous help to the likes of Johan ter Horst to have someone with experience to learn from.

"We may decide to be a bit more choosy over how much we use him – he may not play in all of the cup games, for example - but he’s going to help me out by coaching the forwards, which I’m sure will prove a great benefit to the club.

"Boothy obviously gives us some Premier Division quality if we get promotion, but he is happy to stay here whatever happens.

"He likes it here, he likes the club and the supporters and it goes without saying that we all love having him here."

Folkestone sit third in the table with five games left and they have a six-point cushion to sixth-placed Merstham as well as a game in hand.

They're at home to Corinthian Casuals on Saturday, with Booth expected to feature after missing the last two games with a groin injury.

Kick-off at the Fullicks Stadium is at 3.07pm.
