Hythe Town stalwarts Pat Kingwell and Dave Cook have left the club but Craig Cloke is heading back to Reachfields.

Kingwell and Cook have both signed for Southern Counties East side Ashford United and played for the Nuts & Bolts against Deal on Tuesday night.

Their departure has been offset by the expected return of utility man Cloke, who counts Dover Athletic and Margate among his former clubs.

Reflecting on Kingwell's departure, Hythe boss Scott Porter said: "We had some good times. I was Pat's manager for five years and he’d been at the football club for seven.

"He’s been a good servant to the club but people come and go in football and you have to accept that. Pat’s a loss but as one door closes, another one opens.

"Craig Cloke’s coming back next week and that’s a big plus because we’ve missed him.

"He had a break from football but he’s ready to come back now. He’s sorted things out, family-wise and he had lots of offers but he’s loyal to me and this is the right time to come back. He’s all ready to go."

Cloke isn't available for Saturday's trip to Three Bridges but he could make his second Hythe debut away to Kent rivals Sittingbourne on Tuesday.
