Folkestone Invicta looking to continue their superb home record with three points against Carshalton Athletic
10:40, 01 October 2014
Folkestone Invicta belatedly return to the Fullicks Stadium this weekend looking to build on their stunning home record over the last year.
It’s almost a month since Neil Cugley’s side played a league game in front of their home crowd and they face another three away trips in a row after the visit of Carshalton Athletic on Saturday.
Having taken 59 of a possible 66 league points at the Fullicks over the last 12 months, they’ll fancy their chances of following up Monday’s 2-0 win at Hastings with another three points.
Invicta boss Cugley said: "I’m sure Carshalton will look forward to coming here because it’s a nice pitch and a nice ground but people will come here knowing that we’ve been good at home over the last year.
"Our players should be looking forward to playing at home, they should be buzzing and that’s starting to come now. A performance like we got on Monday night will help that."
Carshalton, relegated from the Ryman League Premier Division last season, go into Saturday's game sitting 12th - two places and three points behind Folkestone.
Cugley said: "It’s weird. I thought Carshalton and Hastings would both be there or thereabouts because they’re biggish clubs (but Hastings are 19th).
"They’ll be trying to get their season on track."
