Folkestone Invicta goalkeeper Tim Roberts signs a contract which will keep him at the Fullicks Stadium

08:00, 23 July 2014

Folkestone Invicta have secured the services of Tim Roberts for another season after the highly-rated goalkeeper signed a contract this week.

Roberts, the former Chatham No.1, made 46 appearances for Invicta last season and helped them reach the Ryman League Division 1 South play-off final.

He’d already agreed to stay with the club for a second term but now a more permanent agreement has been reached.

Folkestone boss Neil Cugley said: "Tim has signed a year’s contract and that’s important for us.

"We had a problem last year when Jack (Delo) left and we didn’t want somebody coming along and taking Tim away.

"He likes the club and he’s by far one of the best goalies in this league and could easily play at a higher standard.

"He’s a big reason we got to the play-offs last season."
