The arrival of Callum Davies from Maidstone has boosted Folkestone as they continue to tackle a relentless run of league and cup games.
Davies, a former Gillingham and Dover defender, this week joined Invicta on a
three-month loan deal from the National League club and made his debut in Tuesday's 0-0 draw with Merstham.
Folkestone must play at least 10 games in 36 days between now and the start of October, so Davies is bound to see plenty of action.
Invicta boss Neil Cugley said: "He can play anywhere, he’s experienced and to get him, I was chuffed.
"There’s so many games – 19 in 10 weeks – so we’ll need a squad. There will be a few injuries so we’ll need everybody and when you’ve got someone like that who can play in different positions, that does help.
"I know he had other clubs, especially in our league, trying to sign him but luckily enough I went to see him a little while ago, had a chat with him and he seemed keen to give it a go at Folkestone.
"Maidstone have been helpful and we came to an arrangement, so everybody’s happy."
Invicta, who lost 1-0 at title favourites Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday, continue their Ryman League Premier Division campaign with two games over the Bank Holiday weekend.
They host Needham Market on Saturday before travelling to Burgess Hill on Monday.
