Folkestone joint-head coach Roland Edge has been impressed with how Hastings have settled in Isthmian Premier.

Invicta, on a three-match winning streak, head to The Pilot Field in 12th, level on points with 10th-placed Hastings who have a game in hand on them.

Hastings were promoted last season as champions of Isthmian South East and they have taken little time to settle to level at Step 3.

They met at Cheriton Road in September - Folkestone’s first home league fixture - for a goalless draw.

Much has changed at Invicta since, though, with Edge and Micheal Everitt replacing legendary boss Neil Cugley, who stepped down the following month.

“We have already played Hastings at home,” said Edge. “They are well organised and it was a tight game.

“We will need to move the ball forward quickly. If we move forward, there will be gaps to exploit.

“They have done really well this year. I think there’s a gulf in class between the league below and this division - and they’re sitting pretty above us.

“So they’re doing a good job.”

Midfielder Scott Heard (ankle) is a doubt having missed Folkestone’s weekend 2-0 victory at Wingate & Finchley which came through a penalty from top scorer Ade Yusuff and fellow attacker Ira Jackson's second-half strike.

Goalkeeper Pat Ohman returned from an injury sustained at Herne Bay at Wingate.

The match against Hastings has now been postponed after a pitch inspection.

Forward Shola Ayoola, meanwhile, has departed the club in search of more game time.
