Joint-boss Micheal Everitt is calling upon Folkestone’s supporters to get behind them ahead of their big home match against frontrunners Bishop’s Stortford.

It’ll be a massive test for Invicta this Saturday, but they head into the clash at Cheriton Road in good spirits amid a five-match unbeaten run.

Those results have seen Folkestone close in on the Isthmian Premier play-off places, sitting eighth, however they have played more fixtures than most of their rivals.

“Hopefully, we can get as many people as possible to see two attacking teams,” said Everitt.

“I would like to get 1,000 there. I know we did get that for the Margate game but, hopefully, we can get it again.

“Our fans have been brilliant this year. They have got behind us.

"We hope they can get behind our play-off push, they’ll be a big part of that.”

When the teams met at Bishop’s Stortford, the hosts ran out 3-0 victors in October and Everitt is well aware of the threat they will pose.

He said: “We expected at the beginning of the season that Bishop’s Stortford would be up the top - and they are.

“They have good players and have just signed Sam Deering. He has played in higher leagues.

“But we’re in a good run of form and we will all enjoy the game on Saturday.”

Invicta, who beat Enfield 3-0 last Tuesday, earned a 5-0 victory at Potters Bar at the weekend.

Midfielder Ronnie Dolan led the way with a hat-trick while young substitute Lenny Atherton and playmaker Scott Heard were also on target.

“We’re delighted for Ronnie,” noted Everitt.

“Sometimes, he doesn’t get the credit and accolades he should. But we’re proud he plays for us. He’s, not only a brilliant player, he’s a really good lad as well.

“We didn’t expect him to score a hat-trick but, at the end of the day, I don’t care who scores.”

Dolan - whose younger brother Robbie is also in their squad - had not scored since an FA Cup success at Corinthian in September 2021.

But Everitt hopes he can start finding his scoring boots again.

“He’s definitely someone capable of doing what he did on Saturday,” he said.

“He has so much quality. He got the goals through being in the right place at the right time - hopefully he can get another this Saturday!

“With the way we play, he cannot be quite as attacking as he wants. He brings that structure, with Rogo [James Rogers], in the midfield.”

Atherton also impressed off the bench.

Everitt said: “Lenny has been involved with us a little while now. He scored loads of goals at Academy and under-18 level.

"It was nice that the new signing, Jordan Ababio, put in a great ball.”

Young winger Ababio also came off the bench to make an impact on his Invicta debut having joined from Bearsted.

“We have sort of known about him for a little while,” explained Everitt.

“It felt like something we wanted to add. To be fair, I have had a couple of messages from different managers, saying ‘That’s a good signing’.

“He has been playing in SCEFL and, now, he steps back up, like he did at Margate with Jay [Saunders, then-manager].”

On-loan Tonbridge striker Louis Collins got his first Folkestone goal against Enfield.

Ira Jackson and Ibrahim Olutade were also on target.
