Kent all-rounder Ben Harmison is set to make his Folkestone debut away to title hopefuls Hartley Country Club this weekend.

The 29-year-old is on his way back from a knee injury and he’s hoping club cricket with Folkestone will help get him back in the county side.

Harmison’s just resumed full training and his inclusion would come as a real boost to newly-promoted Folkestone in what looks like their toughest fixture of the Kent League Premier Division season.

Captain Andy Bray said: "When a professional player wants to play for you, you’re not going to say no. Ben will certainly add value with his batting.

"He’s been looking for a club, he’s local to us and he heard we’ve got a good bunch of guys down here.

"He’s done well for Kent for the last few years and wants to put himself in the frame to play all formats of the game for them again."

Folkestone travel to Hartley as underdogs but Bray insists they're relishing the chance to take on the side who won the Kent League in 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

He said: "That's the reason we wanted to be in the Premier League, to play against players like James Hockley, Dan Stickels and Andrew Tutt.

"These guys have played Premier League cricket for a long time and we want to test ourselves against them. We want to enjoy ourselves but we know that if we give batsmen like Hockley and Stickels an opportunity, they're more than likely to make us pay."

Bray added: "I never go into a game not thinking I can win it.

"It would be very easy to underestimate us but we've got match-winners in our side."
