FA Cup semi-finalists Hull City are the latest club to be linked with Folkestone Invicta’s teenage goal machine Johan Ter Horst.

Ter Horst, reportedly on Aston Villa’s radar, played for the Charlton Athletic development side two weeks ago but now he could be about to sign for the Tigers.

In only his first full season in senior football, Ter Horst has already broken the 20-goal barrier.

He scored what turned out to be the winner on Saturday as Folkestone beat Kent rivals Faversham 2-1.

Invicta boss Neil Cugley admitted that could have been Ter Horst’s last game for Folkestone, although he insisted no deal had yet been done for the 18-year-old.

Cugley said: "I hope he does get his chance fairly soon because he’s only 18 and he wants to tell the world but nothing’s happening until everything’s done.

"I hope it all comes off because it seems like it’s been going on for a while, dragging on in some ways.

"It’s not right (for me) to say it’s this club or that club. I’ve been in football a long time and know things can change quickly.

"At the moment, Johan’s still a Folkestone player and he’ll still be with us on Wednesday. If he plays well for Folkestone, it helps him and it helps me.

"It’s how he performs for us, that’s what they’re coming down to look at."

Folkestone travel to Eastbourne Town tonight (Wednesday) before hitting the road again on Saturday for a game at Tooting & Mitcham.
