There should not be any issues for Folkestone’s players when it comes to motivating themselves for tonight’s big away match, joint-boss Roland Edge believes.
Inconsistent Invicta will travel to face early Isthmian Premier frontrunners Hornchurch tonight (7.45pm), with the unbeaten Urchins now managed by ex-Welsh international hitman Steve Morison. His most prolific playing spells came at Millwall, Stevenage and Norwich.
Folkestone sit 11th but they have played more league fixtures than most around them. They will aim to respond after a 3-0 away loss to Kingstonian on Saturday.
Edge said: “That’s a really tough game.
“They’re the favourites - and rightly so with their squad and their budget.
“But football is quite weird. Sometimes, against those sorts of opposition, you automatically focus more and work harder.
“The worst thing you can do is underestimate someone.
“If we go back to working hard and stick together, we will get there.”
Striker Ade Yusuff, who left Folkestone for Hornchurch last season, started in Saturday’s 4-1 home win against 10-man Bognor Regis.
Ex-Gillingham and Dartford frontman Liam Nash struck twice while left-back Nathan Green also departed Cheriton Road in the summer for Hornchurch.
