Popular attacking midfielder Kieron McCann has agreed a return to Folkestone Invicta next season.

McCann - who made headlines in January for a big charity challenge - swapped Invicta for Cray Valley last summer but is now back for more at Cheriton Road.

McCann joined the Millers for the start of the 2020/21 campaign, linking up with Nat Blanks and Ade Yusuff who also made the switch to join Kevin Watson’s side.

He played in 12 of the club’s 13 matches during the past campaign and was an integral part of the team as they reached the FA Cup first round proper.

But McCann, who originally joined Invicta from Sevenoaks Town in 2017, is back for more. He will be keen to add to the 135 appearances and 21 goals he previously racked up for Neil Cugley’s side.

Earlier this year McCann, who had never run a marathon before in his life, set himself a challenge of completing 496 miles in 31 days during January - the equivalent of 19 marathons - to raise funds for the Darel Bryan Foundation in support of Brain Tumour Research.

He aimed to raise £1,000 for the charity - one set up in memory of his former neighbour and friend - but smashed it by some distance, with £8,730 pledged on his justgiving page.

Invicta boss Cugley is busy getting his team ready for another stab at the Isthmian League, Premier Division, having finished the 20/21 campaign sitting sixth

Ronnie Dolan is the latest to have agreed to remain for another season with the club.

Dolan was part of the 2015-16 Isthmian League Division 1 South championship winning team and has clocked up over 200 appearances for the club and scoring 25 goals.
