Club legend Micheal Everitt will play his 600th game for Folkestone Invicta over the Easter weekend.

Everitt, 32, made his Invicta debut back in the 1999/2000 season and was given a testimonial in 2008.

He’s been promoted and relegated since then and now the club’s record appearance holder is targeting a return to the Ryman League Premier Division via the play-offs.

Everitt said: "I don’t really think about how many games I’ve played. I’ve been there so long, I’ve seen lows and the big high of promotion after we’d had the points deduction.

"The club’s in a good position now thanks to a lot of hard work behind the scenes, which no-one sees.

"I know how hard the fans, Cugs (Neil Cugley), Jim (Pellatt) and everyone associated with the club have worked to achieve that."

Folkestone have been knocked out of the Division 1 South play-offs in each of the last three seasons.

Everitt said: "Folkestone’s a big club in this division and we should be in the division above.

"We definitely want to go one better this time and we’re ready now. The club’s ready, off the field, which maybe it wasn’t last year or the year before."
