Former Gillingham defender Aaron Simpson has signed for Folkestone Invicta.
The Isthmian Premier club have agreed a deal with the 21-year-old who left Gills at the end of the 2018/19 season.
Folkestone boss Neil Cugley said: "Aaron is a player I’ve had my eye on all the way through his career, so I’m really pleased that he has agreed to sign.
"He is another who perhaps hasn’t gone on as he should, but I’d like to think that we can get the best out of him at Invicta and perhaps get him back to a higher level.
"He is athletic with a good left foot and he can play anywhere down the left hand side as well as cutting inside on the right, as we’ve got a small squad, he will be invaluable as he can cover a number of positions."
Simpson featured 18 times for Hythe Town last season.
Invicta progressed in the FA Cup on Wednesday night with a 4-1 win at Wingate & Finchley in the First Qualifying Round. Their goals came from Ian Draycott, David Smith, Scott Heard and a Sam Hasler penalty.
Folkestone host Wingate & Finchley in the Isthmian Premier on Saturday.
