Passions will run high tonight (Wednesday) when Hythe and Whitstable clash in the FA Trophy for the second time in five days.

Saturday’s game at Reachfields ended 2-2 but there has to be a winner in the second meeting at the Belmont, even if extra-time and penalties are required.

The winners face a trip to Ryman League Premier Division strugglers Carshalton Athletic in the third qualifying round.

Hythe boss Scott Porter said: "It’s a winnable game (at Carshalton) for both sides, for whoever gets through.

"There would be no pressure on us there. It’s away from home, against a team in a higher league, so we’d go there and try to cause an upset.”

To have a crack at the Robins, Porter's side must first find a way past their Kent rivals.

They led Whitstable twice on Saturday but former Hythe man Craig Thompson brought his new club level on both occasions.

Porter said: "I’m sure it’ll be just as entertaining as the first game.

"I might change it a little bit but that’s down to me. We’ve got to finish the job."
