Manager Andy Drury reckons Folkestone’s weekend win has all-but secured their Isthmian Premier status - and now, he has his sights set on what he still wants to achieve this season.
Invicta secured a second straight home win, beating Canvey Island 1-0 through forward Tom Derry’s goal.
It was a result which moved them to within a point of the 40-point mark and some way clear of the relegation zone, with less than 10 league fixtures to play this term.
Asked if he felt his team had secured safety, he replied: “I think so.
“Margate losing again (3-0 at Carshalton) probably sends us safe, really.
“But there’s another group of four or five teams above us.
“We need to chase them down and try to push as high up the table as we can.”

A crowd of 490 were at Cheriton Road to see Derry head home the only goal shortly after the hour mark.
Drury reflected: “It was always important just to get the three points.
“That was the main thing for us and we have got back-to-back wins now.
“The game was scrappy in the first half - I thought both teams were very average - but I asked them to up the intensity and we got the goal in the second half. I think we deserved it.
“Once we got the goal, I don’t think we were in any danger of losing the lead.”
It was the sixth Folkestone goal for Derry since he arrived in December.
“Tom has done well since he came in,” noted Drury. “What he offers in both boxes is massive.
“Tom got another goal on Saturday and has been a very good player.”
Two new signings played for Invicta, dual-registered Tonbridge winger Francis Mampolo started while on-loan Horsham midfielder Tom Kavanagh came off the substitutes’ bench.
Drury, who has allowed midfielder Ade Cole and defender Jake Goodman to depart, said: “Francis did okay.
“He’s come in from Tonbridge. He got a bit tired in the second half.
“Tom Kavanagh came on and he just brought a bit of maturity to the team. He looks like he’s going to be a good player for us for the next month or so.
“Dean Rance was outstanding. He was the best player on the park, he won virtually every header and his leadership was massive.
“If we can keep some of these players next season, I think we will be right up there.”
There was also only a second Invicta clean sheet since January 20 for Drury’s troops as defender Ian Gayle returned to the starting line-up.
Drury said: “Kai (McKenzie-Lyle, the goalkeeper) has made a couple of big saves over the last two games. He has done well.
“Gayley came in and did well. Jason (Fregene) went to right-back and slotted in fine.
“On Saturday, we looked fairly solid all over the pitch. It’s just about ‘Can we get the second and third goal?’ and really end it.
“But since Christmas, we have been building. We’re pretty much there, really, having competition all over the park.”
Invicta will aim to build on their last two performances as they hit the road.
They take on Cray Wanderers at Hayes Lane this Sunday, having been due to visit relegation-threatened Cheshunt tonight.
Drury added: “It’s nice to get back-to-back wins
“We didn’t play well against Kingstonian, really. We didn’t do the basics right.
“But Saturday, we did the basics right. We won our battles and kept organised.
“That’s the best we can do at home, where the pitch isn’t great.
“The question I will be asking the players this week will be ‘Can we turn that into three or four wins in a row?’.”
