Lydd’s Motoxracing Yamaha rider Bradley Ray finishes 15th at Motorland Aragon for another Superbike World Championship point

Lydd’s Bradley Ray scored another point as the Superbike World Championship season continued at Motorland Aragon.
The Yamaha Motoxracing rider, who banked scoring finishes in Cremona the previous week, is now 21st in the standings thanks to his 15th-place finish in Spain as he looks to finish the season on a high with two more rounds to go.
Ray found nearly a second in performance between free practice three and the Superpole qualifying, where a 1min49.095sec effort sealed a 17th-place starting spot for the opening race.
A red flag after a crash reduced the task to 17 laps, and Ray found a good rhythm to bring the bike home in the final points-scoring position.
Two 16th-place finishes followed in the Superpole race and race two, with Ray extremely close to another point in the latter - just under five hundredths behind Australia’s Remy Gardner.
“I’m pleased with the work done this weekend,” said Ray.
“Even if our results don’t seem that great, we’re actually really close to the other Yamahas and this is important.
“I’m pleased with that and keen to get back on the bike at Estoril when I’ll continue to work hard with my team.”
Team principal Sandro Carusi added: “The points zone is now well within reach, and we’ve improved a lot with respect to the start of the season.
“The impression now is that we’re exploiting the full potential of our bike, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t want to keep getting better and score the best possible results.”
The penultimate round of the championship takes place in Portugal on October 11-13.
