Folkestone Invicta have signed striker Carl Rook on a one-year deal.

Rook, who spent last season with Leatherhead in the Ryman League Premier Division, also counts Dartford, Tonbridge Angels and Margate among his former clubs.

Folkestone boss Neil Cugley told the club's website: "We’ve needed more experience since Paul Booth left last Christmas and Carl is a player I’ve always admired.

"We were within a few hours of signing him a few years ago – but he eventually opted to go to Dover.

"He’s good in the air and the kind of target man we’ve not had for a while.

"That doesn’t mean we’re just going to lump it but I’m sure he’ll easily fit into our style.

"Carl gives us a different option, and with Draycs (Ian Draycott) up there alongside him, they’ll be a handful for any defence."
